At Matt Umanov Guitars, restorations and repairs are where we started, in the early 1960's, and structural integrity and proper playability are still where we start with every instrument we offer for sale in our store, regardless of whether it is vintage or new.  

Our personal experience of nearly fifty years of rebuilding older Martin guitars, working with various major guitar factories both in production and management (Gretsch, Gibson, Guild, Gurian), designing and hand-building prototypes for Martin, the Dan Armstrong Plexiglass guitars and more, gives us a unique perspective on what makes an instrument something you'll want to keep forever.

This and decades of doing repairs and full restorations in our world-renowned in-house service department for our many professional customers, on both acoustic and electric instruments, allows us to see to it that every single instrument we offer for sale meets the highest standards.  Understanding how guitars work and why they behave the way they do, and personally seeing to it that every instrument we offer for sale is "gig ready", comes first with us.
