David Santo is a guitar maker of over 40 years' experience.
During this time, he has had shops in New York City, California,
and Upstate New York. In the late 1960's he worked part-time here
at my store as head of the repair department; for a portion of the
1970's he was foreman of the Gurian guitar factory when it was here
in lower Manhattan. His guitars have the general proportions of the
Martin "M", or "0000" designs, with some of them having Honduras
mahogany tops and some Sitka spruce tops. They are beautifully
made, and have the deep rich clear tone that can only be found in
the best of hand-made instruments. They have some unique features,
such as combinations of French polish and varnish finishes, geared
banjo-style tuning pegs, and other custom touches. I invite you
