1979 Gibson The SG

1979 Gibson The SG

Just how many kinds of Gibson SG guitar models are there? Beats me, but it for sure is a lot. This one, from 1979 (can you believe that was more than forty years ago?), is as cool as any of them, maybe even cooler. “The SG”, says so right on the truss road cover, gotta love it. Real nice original satin finish, plays like all day long and half the night, two giant-sounding Humbuckers; what more could you possibly want? Great condition, fabulous feel, and a terrific price, that’s what. And it’s one of the very most coolest, rare versions too. Solid walnut body, solid walnut neck, solid ebony (!) fingerboard; a truly solid Gibson SG all the way home. And more super-cool: it’s got its original, classic Gibson “T-top” Humbucker pickups and its original hardware. “Nashville”-style Tune-o-Matic bridge, different from those on other examples of this model I’ve seen and a definite improvement, original or not. Original Grover Rotomatic tuners (American-made! You don’t see that anymore) with proprietary Gibson “tulip" buttons, plating a bit tarnished, adds character. Original super-smooth Gibson frets, entire guitar all set up by us and ready to go. Slip-slide away in your own good time with this classic Gibson rocker. Original Gibson hard shell case too, of course. Only $1795 w/ohsc
