2012 Fender FR 55

2012 Fender FR 55

From that narrow time slot about ten years ago when Fender was making some of their hippest resonator guitars. This rare version has the ulta-cool “crow’s foot” resonator cover plate and the even cooler Fender-logo “F” holes, nothing finer. Etched into its nickel-plated finish are the the requisite palm trees, canoe (maybe with Hula girls in it?) and a huge volcano. Hot stuff! “Spiral” resonator cone, hi-class closed geared tuners, and a setup for slide make it the perfect blues companion, hula companion, everything companion; I even saw someone play a Bach cantata on a resonator guitar one day. Plating overall a teeny bit spotty, gotta really look hard to find it but hey, gives it genuine character. No case, but who needs one when the body of your guitar is nickel-plated steel?
