2018 Deering Goodtime Artisan

2018 Deering Goodtime Artisan

Greg and Janet Deering, both wonderful, dedicated people whom I have met, set out to become makers of quality affordable banjos and they have succeeded handsomely. The Goodtime series is their most popular, with instruments ranging from the very beginners' open-backs right on up through their Goodtime Artisan models. With its three-ply maple rim and maple resonator back, this banjo produces bright and clear tones that project extremely well. Its upgraded planetary geared tuning pegs and geared fifth string peg make tuning easy and accurate, and it’s been all gone over right here in our own workshop. This banjo is a major step up from all beginners’ models, and I’m happy to say that it, like all Deering banjos, is made right here in the USA. Artisan models of this type regularly sell for $1,000 and more; this one is the banjo deal of the year. It is in pristine, nearly-unplayed condition and comes with a deluxe hard shell case, at least a $150 value right there and there are not one, but two banjo shoulder straps in the case, still in their unopened packaging. All this for only $695 w/ohc
