1978 Fender Musicmaster Bass

1978 Fender Musicmaster Bass

Fender’s iconic short scale bass, the Musicmaster Bass. Whether you're looking for a real Fender bass that’s just easier to play or perhaps a real Fender bass for a younger person, this one is it. These were made right here in America from 1971 to 1981 and this one, from 1978, is in great playing shape, courtesy of our own world-famous in-house workshop; we even lubed the gears. I’ll admit to its needing a little cleaning but I'd rather keep the price down at its most affordable. The one small problem these basses often had has has already been neatly addressed and solved for you, that of that last bitty point of the pickguard, right near the jack, breaking off. Someone has cleverly taken care of it with gusto and a nice flat washer to hold everything down where it belongs. Brilliant! And a similar (or the same?) genius has also painted tiny matching black dots on the back edge of the fingerboard, I'Il warrant to play it left-handed, upside-down Jimi Hendrix style. Bravo! I’d say that a coupla little screw holes in the pickguard, where the thumb rest mighta got moved to at one point before going back where it originally was, support this theory. Got a ding or two on the front and some  belt-buckle rash on the back but the finish on the neck, where it counts, is 100% perfect and clean. Comes with a very cool, more recent tweed Fender gig bag. Go for it at only $1295 w/bag
