Bozo Podunavac was a Serbian-born luthier who came to the United States in the 1950s, settled in Chicago and later moved to Florida. He passed away in 2015. He was a hugely respected builder of traditional style but uniquely designed steel-string guitars of the highest quality, and had made guitars for such well-known musicians as Leo Kottke, Reverend Gary Davis, Bob Gibson and many others. This one is of the finest straight-grain East Indian rosewood and Sitka Spruce, with ebony fingerboard and bridge and very traditional herringbone-pattern wood marquetry top trim and back stripe. The action is fabulous, low and easy and the tones are magnificent, exactly what one would expect from a Dreadnaught-size guitar of this quality. There are a few nicks and dings here and there, no surprise for a forty year-old guitar though overall it is quite clean and structural condition is excellent.
With Bozo’s guitars routinely being advertised at $2000-5000, we are offering this one at the super bargain price of only $1295 w/hsc
