Collings, of Austin in the great state of Texas (or Republic of Texas, as many say), makes some of the finest steel-string acoustic guitars that have ever been made by anyone, ever, and their electric guitars show the same degree of care, precision, and expertise throughout. Their 290 model is based on Gibson’s iconic 1957 Les Paul Special but Collings is able to put more effort and thought into every guitar they make than an outfit the size of Gibson ever was able to. Hand-selected woods, hand-done precision all the way; these are Collings trademarks. Better yet, the Collings version has a slight bevel on the upper edge of the back of the body, making it so much more comfortable to hold and to play than the Gibsons. Condition of this one is 100% in the playability and action department, having been thoroughly gone over by us here in our own shop. It's got its share of tiny dings here and there though overall the finish is 95% and more importantly, the finish on the back of the neck is 100%. The tuning machines are of course Sperzel, a high-grade detail Gibson just does not deal with. The case is the original hard shell with one odd aspect: the edging around its lid and back look kinda stripped bare on their surfaces, I’m told by the original owner the result of mice getting to it while in storage, I’lll assume for the glue used attaching it. Mice is crazy stuff, but it makes for a great story and the case itself, a top-grade plush-lined TKL, is 100% functional. Make your home its new home for only $2495 w/ohsc

Returns

All purchases made from this website - as well as any made via phone orders - are granted a 24-hour approval period. If you decide not to keep the merchandise you may ship it back to us in the original carton with all accompanying packaging and paperwork. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs. When we receive the item back in its original condition, we will refund the entire amount of the purchase less original shipping cost outbound.
