The 555 was the culmination of the very first guitars Bob Taylor ever built as an individual luthier, before he created one of the greatest guitar-making entities the world has ever known, and this model is still considered by many to be the bestest, hippest, finest pure acoustic 12-string guitar ever made by anyone. With its unique body size and contours, the combination of its fine Sitka spruce top and Honduran mahogany back and sides, it has it the clear, piano-like tones that were the original reason for the creation of 12-string guitars back in the very early 20th century. The condition of this one, now over thirty years old, is just beautiful. No repairs ever needed, barely a scratch on it, close to zero fret wear and barely ever handled; I’d have to call it near-mint, albeit with two mis-matched bridge pins, a very cool, mysterious part of the story. Thoroughly gone over by us right here in our own shop, all set up and with a fresh set of D’Addario strings, this is the best and last 12-string you’ll ever want to own. Comes with Taylor’s own superior hard shell case. A true ind. Only $1995 w/ohsc
