Bill Collings, IMHO (and in the opinion of many, many others), the very best American guitar maker of traditionally-inspired designs, who brought his insight and skills up to a level of world-acclamation like no other. From the small factory he built up in Austin, Texas, came some of the best steel-string guitars I’ve ever seen, ever. This D2H generally follows pre-war Martin D-28 designs but…….. there’s something even minutely cleaner to everything about it than what Martin does, wonderful as they are. And the bracing, well, enough small revisions to add up to an audible difference in clarity and more. As they say, “It's got that Je ne sais quoi but I don't know what it is”. And a lot of it.

OK, the specs. Very straight-grained Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides; mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge. And the best American-made Waverly tuning machines. Condition real clean, a few expected minor scratches here and there. Two nearly invisible top cracks taken care of by us, setup perfect, frets perfect, with appropriate set of .012-.053 strings. All thoroughly gone over right here in our own shop. Original Collings hard shell case of course. Pick it up, play it, get real excited and play it some more. You won't be able to put it down. $3295 w/ohsc
